Choosing the right course, picking the best university, submitting the application, and completing the paperwork are things that will play a key role in your study abroad process. However, what is equally important is being mentally prepared for the entire experience. In the hustle of getting through, most parents and students focus all their attention and energy on the physical process of going abroad. It is only when the time to leave comes near that they understand how much is still left to do.
Going abroad is a big deal, and it is natural to feel overwhelmed. To help you start your great adventure, on the right mental note, we at Sangved, will help you in the best way possible. Through our pre-departure sessions, we will help prepare you to adapt to the new country. Their culture, educational approach, style and standard of living, food, weather, gender equality and so on.
Here’s a glimpse of what we will cover during our Pre-Departure Orientation sessions:
- What to Pack? – Probably the most common question students have is, what to pack. And there’s no denying that the right packing will come in very handy in saving you a lot of hassle in the new home. From books to clothes, from food items to linen, we’ll help you pack what is needed.
- What to do When you Land? – You’ve landed; what next? Our sessions will help you navigate through immigration, customs and reach the campus safely.
- Foreign Exchange – Setting up a bank account, carrying enough cash, exchanging the currency, and finding a local bank that suits your needs, etc., we’ll be there to guide you through.
- A Glimpse of the Culture – Having a fair idea about the country you’re going to will help you gel well with the community. From the initial excitement to the frustration that you feel a few weeks/ months later, we will discuss it all.
- Homesickness – A number of students feel very excited about the studying abroad experience. However, missing your home, your city, your family and your friends go to a different level altogether. A few tips on managing homesickness can be very helpful.
- Building up a Network – Through Sangved, you’ll be able to build some ties with the students who are already there in the university/ country. Being in touch with someone who is going through the same as you, can be a lot of help.
- The Do’s and Dont’s – Your experience in a foreign country is going to be unlike anything else. There are many unwritten rules that a town/ city abides by. Understanding them will help you conduct yourself properly. Sangved will provide you with a comprehensive list of do’s and don’ts before you leave.
When taking the first steps towards a glorious future, your mind may be filled with endless questions. What type of clothes do I need to pack? What reference books should I take? Do I need to carry cash? Will my Debit Card work there? and so on. At Sangved, we will address all these questions and way beyond.
